Grand Manan Island eBike Rentals is owned and operated by husband and wife team John and Kim Shewfelt. We are both former librarians from the Toronto area, and made the move to Grand Manan in 2018 to help Kim’s mum run her gift shop, Pettes Cove Arts. We also run a cottage on AirBnB, Anchors & Purls.
At Grand Manan Island eBike Rentals, we truly believe in the transformative power of electric bikes. As lifelong advocates of sustainable and eco-friendly transportation, we recognized the immense potential of eBikes to not only provide a thrilling and enjoyable riding experience but also contribute to reducing carbon emissions on our beautiful island. With an increasing demand for alternative modes of transportation, we saw a unique opportunity to offer locals and tourists a convenient and accessible eBike rental service. By providing a fleet of high-quality eBikes, we aim to inspire people to explore Grand Manan Island in an environmentally friendly way while enjoying the scenic beauty and fresh coastal air that our island is known for. We opened our eBike rental business with the goal of making cycling more accessible, promoting green transportation, and contributing to the overall wellbeing of our community and environment.

Kim’s family began coming to the island when she was just 2 years old. Now the whole family is here, and we can’t wait to share our island with you too!
One of Kim’s best, and earliest, memories is of renting bikes on the island and heading to Castalia Marsh for a picnic.
